About: Hi. My name is James and I make stuff. When I was little, My grandfather got me started collecting belt buckles. He had quite a collection from his many jobs in the construction industry. When he passed, I inherited his collection. My creative curiosities have developed a mantra of, "if I collect it, I should try to make it." This led me to create my own buckles by casting images in resin. I fell in love with the process. As the buckles began piling up, and I started gifting them to friends, I realized, not enough people own belts that support the changing of buckles...so, I taught myself how to make belts. I began purchasing the unwanted hides. This was premium leather with only slight visual imperfections. these imperfections were just the character I was looking for in my belts. From hide to finish, I began cutting, skiving, punching, dying, and burnishing handmade leather belts to complete the journey of my buckles. Dope.
